On the 2nd day of the PFINGST MASTERS, another round of magnificent and enjoyable youth football at the highest level was on display in the South of Luzern. Almost 3,000 spectators joined the players and staff on Sunday that was accompanied by great football weather and no noteworthy injuries. In the category U13, SG Eintracht Frankfurt from Germany was able to lift the trophy at the Allmend Sud. One category below it was Bayern Munich that showed everyone how it is done. The technical and tactical abilities of this team were exquisite and, as a result, they were able to lift the trophy in a field of strong competitors. In the category of the second youngest teams (U11) it was FC Zurich who were able to call themselves the crowned winners.
Thomas Fink, president of the Organising Committee, was pleased with regard to the two days of the tournament: “All 1,300 footballers that competed were able to travel back without any noteworthy injuries and the weather turned out much better than predicted. With FC Bayern Munich we found a worthy winner amongst the category with the strongest teams.”
FC Luzern and the Organising Committee of the 12th PFINGST MASTERS would like to thank the city of Luzern, the 500 volunteers and all partners and sponsors for their efforts at this Europeanwide unique event that is, with the addition of the DANONE NATIONS CUP, now part of the largest youth football competition of the world.
The 13th edition of the PFINGST MASTERS will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 3rd/4th June 2017.
The 1st day of the 12th PFINGST MASTERS could be carried out despite a virtually flooded Allmend in the morning. The highlight of the day was provided by the U12 of Luzern which won the DANONE NATIONS CUP and will now represent Switzerland in the Finals of this competition in France in November. In the category U10 it was Winterthur that won an entertaining final on penalties against FC Luzern. The team of the FCL Löwenschule won an outstanding 4th place in the U10-category.
„Despite the rain in the morning we were lucky with the weather in the afternoon”, said Thomas Fink, president of the Organising Committee. In the morning the playing fields had to be cleared from water, a feat successfully completed by the city gardeners (Luzerner Stadtgärtnerei) and the Organising Committee, to provide playable and fair conditions.
Although it rained early on, 2,000 spectators found their way to the Southern part of Luzern and saw youth football at its finest! “Sometimes you are left out in the rain”, said Ursula Stämmer, member of the city council, with regards to the weather conditions that turned out better than predicted.
Tomorrow (Sunday) the action is retaken at 09:00. It will be the starting point for the category U11 for the tournament.
In the spring of eleven years ago was hovering at FC Luzern before the idea of an international youth football tournament on the Allmend. This year is now available on the weekend of 23 and 24 Mai the eleventh edition of the FCL agenda. Since the beginning was the number of participants from international top teams with evocative names from nine countries, which made enriched with the best Swiss teams for youth football at its finest.
The PFINGST MASTERS has established itself over the years into a kind of Junior Champions League top football. Against 10,000 visit at the end follow the unique tournament with special charm, which for two days in four categories (U10 | U11 | U12 | U13) is discharged.

On this pentecost sunday another 4'000 spectators attended the second day of this unique European tournament on the site of Allmend Sud, helped by good weather and tight games. After the win of the Under-21s at the FIFA Youth Cup, the Under-13s of the hosts FC Luzern won the PFINGST MASTERS, making their mark in the world of future football heroes. Hertha BSC won the category of the Under-12. In the same category, second-placed FC Lausanne-Sport is qualified for the Danone Nations Cup in Marokko based on their ranking as the best Swiss team. In the category of the Under-11s it was FC Lausanne-Sport who beat FC Luzern in a dramatic final.
Thomas Fink, president of the organising committee, had only positive remarks for the 11th edition of the Champions League of youth football: "We are very satisfied when looking back over these two days and are very happy that our team won amongst the category of the oldest boys.". Ruedi Stäger, President of the organising team FC Luzern, was impressed by this major sporting event who can count itself as one of the more renowned amongst the European Youth football tournaments: "The PFINGST MASTERS carries the name of FC Luzern into Europe in a very positive manner and leaves a very good impression for our club."
The PFINGST MASTERS counted a total attendance of 8'500. Roughly 500 volunteers helped to make these two days a success story and an enjoyable experience for all of the 64 teams from Switzerland and abroad.
The preparation for the 12th edition of the PFINGST MASTERS begin already in the coming week.

The first day of the 11th PFINGST MASTERS surfaced an unlikely competition winner: FC Schaffhausen. Roughly 4'500 spectators attended the "Champions League of Youth Football" at the venue of Allmend South, coupled with ideal weather and tight games.
There was no match for FC Schauffhausen on this Saturday in the category of Under-10s. The team beat the favourites FC Basel 1893 in the final with 4:1. The game for 3rd place was decided by the hosts FC Luzern against Grasshoppers Zürich after a penalty shootout.
Competition manager Thomas Fink was happy with the competition, as well with the turnout of 4'500 spectators: "we were happy that such a large crowd attended the games here today. Coupled with the ideal weather conditions and the fact that there were no major injuries, this day was even better".
The competition continues on Sunday with the categories Under-11s, Under-12s and Under-13s. The games start from 9am and admission is free of charge.
The Under-12s competition of the PFINGST MASTERS is under the banner of the Danone Nations Cup. The teams will be named from 32 countries around the world to establish the attendands of the Final Round. The best Swiss steam of the category Under-12s of the PFINGST MASTERS is directly qualified for the Finals in Morocco.
